2008 Attic Productions Season
“I Ought To Be In Pictures”
Written by: Neil Simon
October 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 & 18
The natural humor in everyday relationships is central in all Neil Simon plays and I Ought To Be In Pictures is no exception. Libby, a very young aspiring actress, suddenly appears on her Hollywood scriptwriter father’s doorstep demanding his assistance in securing work for her in the movies. In true Neil Simon fashion, hilarious humor results from the many problems this life changing event causes for Herb, Libby’s father and Steffy, his girlfriend of many years. Having all but forgotten his Brooklyn family after leaving them sixteen years earlier, he eventually comes to understand what being a father really means, with all the joy and pain that title brings.
Join us this October as Herb and Libby mend their father/daughter relationship in this poignant, tender and honestly funny play that helps us understand that it’s never too late.
